 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village. HERBALIST ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING HIS CLIENT IN OGUN STATE.(PHOTO).

Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a herbalist identified as Samson Ogundele, a resident of Referefu area of Oja odan, for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of a young girl (name withheld) who came to his house on consultation. 

The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Oja odan divisional headquarters by the victim, who reported that she is a hairdressing apprentice and that a sum of one thousand naira got missing in their shop which made all the nine apprentices in the shop consult the herbalist to know who stole the money amongst them.

On getting to the herbalist, he started calling them into a room one after the other after collecting N700 from them. 

The complainant stated further that the first and second persons entered and came out, and when it was her turn, she entered and the herbalist tried to rape her. 

Upon her complaint, the DPO Oja odan division, CSP Gabriel Ikechukwu, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect and he was arrested. 

It was while interrogating him that one of the girls who is 17 years old confessed that the herbalist had already had carnal knowledge of her when she met him at the consulting room. She stated further that the herbalist threatened that she will died if she inform anybody. 

The victim was immediately taken to General Hospital Oja Odan where the Doctor on duty confirmed that the girl has been defiled. 

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the herbalist himself has confessed to the commission of the crime. 

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
