RCCG Commissions Ultramodern Dialysis Centre In Awkuzu
Enoch and Folu Adeboye Ultramodern Dialysis Centre has been commissioned at Comprehensive Medical Centre, Awkuzu, Anambra State.
This centre is courtesy of His Love Foundation, a charity arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.
The center, which has three dialysis machines and one Medical Water Reverse Osmosis Purification System, was commissioned as part of activities to mark the seventieth anniversary of the RCCG.
A similar project will also be commissioned at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Enugu State in days time according to RCCG officials.
Speaking at the event, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by Pastor Kalu Ndukwe, and the Intercontinental Overseer, Christian Social Responsibility, CRS, RCCG, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, represented by the CSR Coordinator for Africa 3, Pastor Detola Akinremi, who explained that RCCG is involved in interventions in health, education, social and other aspects of life, said ten dialysis centers with forty-eighty machines have been donated across the country, adding that with almost five hundred thousand operating centres all over Nigeria and in one hundred and ninety seven nations, RCCG is committed to serving humanity in more practical ways.
They thanked Adimma Awkuzu for providing the leverage and platform upon which the facility was attracted to complement efforts in providing health needs of people around.
Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, represented by Dr Uju Okoye, noted that kidney diseases has remained health concern, and thanked RCCG and Adimma Awkuzu for helping to achieve comprehensive health care services for the people, noting that referrals will be coming to the facility from different parts of the world.
In their separate remarks, the traditional ruler of Awkuzu, Igwe Professor Charles Anikwenze, and the Chairman of Adimma Awkuzu, Sir Patrick Igwilo, commended the charitable initiative now in Awkuzu, describing it as one that can address unemployment while serving health needs of people around, calling for much of such initiative from the church.
A member of the community, Adimma Awkuzu and former Commissioner for Trade and Commerce in Anambra, Honourable Uchenna Okafor, who expressed joy with what is happening in the community, Anambra State and Southeast, said such initiative is in line with the mandate of the church, and thanked Adimma Awkuzu for helping to turn Comprehensive Medical Centre, Awkuzu, into a world class health center.
Students of Redeemers Fortress Nursery and Primary School, Awkuzu, Dean, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa, representatives of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Christian Association of Nigerian, CAN, were present at the event.
