 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana. 2023: Don’t Vote Leaders That’ll Buy Your Conscience, Mortgage Our Future – Jonathan To Nigerians 

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has cautioned Nigerians against voting for leaders who will buy their conscience.

Jonathan also cautioned Nigerians against voting for politicians that would mortgage the future of their children and grandchildren.

He spoke while delivering a keynote address at the one-year memorial summit in honour of late Captain Idahosa Okunbo, in Abuja on Saturday, NAN reports.

The former president urged electorates to be circumspect in exercising their voting rights in the 2023 general elections.

“Ahead of the 2023 elections, we are getting ready to be wooed and wowed at campaign grounds by various politicians seeking different offices.

“But these thoughts are beyond 2023. It is about Nigeria and the kind of leadership it deserves now and in the future to ensure that our country assumes its rightful place among the comity of nations.

“My charge to Nigerians is to be circumspect in the exercise of their voting rights.

“We must shift away from the politics of bread and butter and ensure that we do not elect leaders that will buy our conscience today and mortgage the future of our children and grandchildren.

“We should endeavour to elect only those that will leave legacies of unity, peace and development,” Jonathan said.
