 Abiodun Eulogises Otegbola as Former Senator is Laid to Rest Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday, described Senator Ayodeji Otegbola as a distinguished politician and a patriotic Nigerian who dedicated his life to public service and the development of Ogun State and the nation. Abiodun made the remarks at the funeral service of the late Senator Otegbola, held at the African Church St. Paul's Cathedral, Lagos East Diocese, Ilupeju, Lagos State. He said that the deceased made impactful contributions to the development of the country as a Senator and as a former chairman of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA). SUDDEN AND UNNATURAL DEATH OF SIX IN ADANI, UZO-UWANI LGA; CP AMMANI ORDERS FULL-SCALE INVESTIGATION, COMMISERATES WITH FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF VICTIMS


Following the receipt of a report alleging the Sudden and Unnatural Death (SUD) of six (6) persons and the hospitalization of eight (8) others, at Akutara Village in Adani Community of Uzo-Uwani LGA, on 27/08/2022 at about 0930hrs, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, has ordered the State CID Enugu to launch a full-scale investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death and hospitalization of the victims. He commiserates with the families and friends of the deceased, while calling on residents of the community to maintain peace and support the Police with necessary information in the investigation.

2. Meanwhile, preliminary investigation reveals that one of the confirmed deceased victims, Obinna Dike aged 31, attended his own traditional marriage ceremony at Obollor-Eke in Udenu LGA on 26/08/2022, with his relatives and other victims of the incident. They thereafter went back home and continued with the celebration.

3. However, the following morning, none of them came out of the room where they slept, causing the door to be forced opened, with all of them in the room found to be unconscious with foamy discharge from their mouths. They were immediately moved to the hospital, where six (6) of them were confirmed dead and deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while the others are responding to treatment.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
