 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. FRSC TO RESTRATEGISE FOR IMPROVED OPERATIONS, DEPLOY MORE OPERATIONAL EQUIPMENTS, PERSONNEL TO TRAFFIC AND CRASH PRONE AREAS NATIONWIDE


In his quest to make the highways safer for all road users, the Acting Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu has said that the Corps is currently restrategising to boost its operational activities through the deployment of adequate operational equipments and personnel to effectively mann traffic and crash prone areas nationwide.

He stated this and many more while addressing the workforce at the national headquarters during his second parade held on Wednesday morning

According to him, the deployment will include injecting new fleet of vehicles into the operational front, fixing of grounded vehicles that are presently impacting negatively on the general operations of the Corps, and tackle fuel inadequacies for patrol, rescue and administrative fleet of the Corps among others. 

The new fleet which include ambulances for rescue services, light and heavy tow trucks for prompt removal of obstructions, and administrative and patrol vehicles will be commissioned for full operations very soon.

He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support and commitment to the realisation of a safer motoring environment in Nigeria and also expressed his gratitude to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for his usual support.

Accordingly, some of the identified traffic prone areas to be manned are; Lokoja-Kabba-Ayere-Akunu-Ise-Junction-Ile-are-Ado, Asaba-Abraka-Ughelli-Warri, Ibadan-Ogere-Sagamu, Sagamu-Mowe-Lagos corridorscorridor, Ekiti, Lokoja-Kabba-Ayere, 9thMile-Udi-Oji-River-Umunze, Bauchi-Alkaleri-Kaltungo, Kaduna-Kachia-Kwoi-Manchok, Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji-Lokoja, Lekki-Epe-Ijebu Ode.

Others include but not limited to the following; Akwanga-Lafiya-Makurdi, Jos-Bauchi-Gombe, Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega-Birnin Kebbi, Katsina-Kano-Wudil-Dutse-Azare-Potiskum, Kaduna-Saminaka-Jos, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway Okene-Ogori-Isua-Owo, and Makurdi-Otukpo-Obollo Afor-9th Mile.
