OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Wife of the Governor of Anambra state, Mrs Nonye Soludo promises to take full sponsorship of Chikamnanyo Olisaemeka and Emeka Okoye victims of child abuse and trafficking respectively.

The wife of the Governor, Mrs Soludo has hosted the two victims of child abuse and trafficking rescued by Anambra state women and social welfare commissioner Hon. Ify Obinabo. 

Mrs soludo who interacted with them at the Governor's lodge Amawbia, stated that she will take full sponsorship of their education till university level.

Mrs Soludo assured them of her support in whatever they may need even as she urged everyone to be promoters of the campaign "if you see something, say something".

This came as part of efforts in supporting the activities of the women and social welfare ministry headed by Hon Obinabo. 

Recall that the children Chikamnanyo Olisaemeka 17years old and Emeka Okoye
12years old were both rescued by the women and social welfare commissioner Hon.Ify Obinabo and since then has charged the case to court for speedy justice delivery.

Chikamnanyo Olisaemeka is a victim child abuse whose guardians used hot iron and sharp objects on while Emeka Okoye is a victim of child trafficking who was rescued in Awka from his traffickers

The wife of the Governor also promised to furnish them with necessary educational materials needed for their studies and to regularly interact with them in order to know the progress report so far.
