 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. NTEJE REHABILITATION INMATES EXCITED AS MRS. SOLUDO VISITS THE CENTER.

The inmates of Nteje Rehabilitation Center were full of excitement when the wife of the governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo alongside the Commissioner for women and social welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo visited the center.

The inmates who were visibly happy took turns to sing, dance and perform for the wife of the governor.

As though that wasn't enough, they gladly interacted with her and assured her that they will always be in their best behavior.

While interacting with them, Mrs Soludo promised to reunite as many certified okay by the centre's physician and also set them up in different skills.

Mrs Soludo also promised to start up skills training for the inmates as a way of encouraging them and speeding up their recovery process.

The women and social welfare boss used the opportunity to encourage the staff of the center to always give in their best in ensuring that the inmates become stable.

Some of the inmates who interacted with the wife of the governor including the Mr Chisom who was recently brought to the center from Onitsha where he was roaming the streets was seen in good health associating with other inmates.

Highlight of the visit was the beautiful rendition by the inmates.
