 Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has approved 100 hectares of land within the Abia Airport Project Site for the Nigerian Air Force to build its training base in Abia State. The Nigeria Air Force had requested an expansion of the 50 hectares of land already earmarked for its training base at the Abia Airport Project Site.  Governor Otti gave the approval on Tuesday, March 10th, in his office while receiving a delegation of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), Ground Training Command led by the Commander, Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde, who called on him. "The partnership is such that Abia State Government is handling the runway, and the Federal Government is handling the Airport Terminal.  "We expect the runway to be ready very soon. POLICE RESCUE SUSPECTED CHILD TRAFFICKER FROM MOB


Police operatives attached to Surulere Division have rescued one Ayomide Fawehinmi ‘m’ aged 22 from a mob for allegedly stealing a child at the Empire area of Surulere. 

The suspect was rescued and thereafter arrested after a distress call was received from members of the community about the mob action. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect lured a 15-year-old boy from his mother’s shop and was taking him to an unknown destination before he was accosted by a neighbour who raised the alarm. The suspect had already dispossessed the boy of an Itel android phone to cut off communication with his mother. 

While the boy has been rescued unhurt and the phone recovered, investigation is ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspect’s culpability. Suspect would be arraigned contingent on the outcome of the investigation. 

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc commends residents of Lagos State for always promptly alerting the authorities to suspicious person/happenings and sternly warns member of the public to desist from jungle justice as it is a crime in itself.
