Following the need to salvage the medical situation of the eight year old rape victim from Ifitedunu, the honorable commissioner for women and social welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo took steps by making sure she got her admitted into COOU teaching hospital immediately.

Since then the progress report has been amazing as the eight year old's swollen body has come down and she has been responding to treatment too.

Although still admitted, the victims grandmother, Mrs Christiana Akpụ, appreciated the efforts of the state government through the women and social welfare Commissioner and prayed for speedy recovery of her grand child.

Recall that according the initial medical report, it was said that the victim is having complications with her kidney which may be as a result of infection from the rape and defilement incident.

But so far, the team of doctors at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka are not blinking an eye in  ensuring that the victim recovers totally in no distant time.
