 Four North Carolina utility workers were tragically killed when a dump truck driver drove through a stop sign and crashed into a crew of workers. This heartbreaking incident occurred at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Eden, North Carolina. According to reports, a City of Eden dump truck driven by 66-year-old Michael Vernon ran a stop sign at the intersection of Carroll and Church Street in Eden. After blowing through the intersection, Vernon struck 6 utility workers with Duke Energy who were working on power lines for Carolina Power and Signalization. The dump truck then struck an occupied bucket truck before going off the road into a ditch. Four of the utility workers were sadly pronounced deceased on the scene while 2 others were life-flighted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. From the 21st – 30th October 2022, Miss Wheelchair world Organisation will be holding the next edition Miss Wheelchair World Competition in Rosarito-Baja, California, Mexico. It is a project that stands out in making women with disabilities visible, promoting inclusion worldwide, eradicating discrimination and achieving a more empathetic society.

Rita Ofili, a Nigeria, was selected alongside with women from 27 countries to participate in the event. Rita Ofili is the first Nigeria Miss Wheelchair Model, an active member of inclusion in the country, and a collaborator in different activities and events carried out in the country. 

Our goal is to showcase her as a role model to the youths and women, particularly to rebrand disability and show Nigerians that there is ability in disability.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
