YOUTHS' ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT IN LAGOS STATE :COMMANDANT EWEKA PROMISES SUPPORT FOR 'CADET INITIATIVE.
The Lagos State Commandant pledges continuous synergy and support for Community Ambassador for Developmental Engagement Techniques ( CADET ) Initiative in the State.
The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Edenabu Okoro, msc, acma, cna, received the Commander, CADET Initiative, Lagos State Command, Cadet Commandant Sobowale Opeoluwa and his team, in his office, at the Command's Headquarters, situated at Alausa, Ikeja, in the State.
Cadet Commander Sobowale Opeoluwa, who was warmly welcomed, by the Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, received his commendation, over the initiative's robust synergy with the Command, in the areas of 'intelligence sharing and gathering and many more.'
Cadet Commander Sobowale, during his visit, highlighted his mission, which were; to foster persistent collaboration with the Command, through intelligence sharing and gathering, to avow the initiative's unflinching support to the Command, in a bid to fulfilling its statutory mandates and functions, as well as to share credible and actionable information, where necessary, in a bid to squash oil pipeline vandalism and other heinous crimes prior to their commission.
In the same vein, the Commandant, ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Okoro, stated that the Command will continue to sustain the already established cordial relationship between the Command and the CADET Initiative, which is one of the good models for youths' engagement and developments in the State. The Commandant also seized the visit, to charge the teeming youths, in the society, to embrace hard work, selfless, licit, and reasonable ventures as well as peaceful projects or missions like this, in a bid to sustain communal and national peace.
Finally, following the glaring security challenges in the nation, where even schools and school children are not spared during attacks, Commandant Eweka Edenabu Okoro, panegyrised the Safe School Initiative of the Commandant General ( CG ), NSCDC , CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, as a proactive recipe that has come to boost internal security mechanism in the nation .
"However, in the face of untoward security challenges, the Command will continue to protect all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), mainly the Federal Government's property, the State Government's property and the Local Government's property, in the State, as mandated by the Act establishing the Corps in 2003 and 2007 as amended, Commandant Eweka said."
