 FG MOVES TO CUT EDUCATION COSTS, PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY WITH REUSABLE TEXTBOOK POLICY The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive policy framework aimed at reducing the cost of education for parents, improving learning outcomes, and promoting sustainability in schools through the adoption of reusable, high-quality textbooks and strengthened quality assurance mechanisms. The policy, jointly issued by the Honourable Minister of Education  Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and the Honourable Minister of State for Education Prof Suiwaba Sai'd, forms part of ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s education sector and ease the financial burden on families. 2023: Kaduna Police Warns Politicians Against Violating Electoral Act

The Kaduna State Police Command has warned all political parties and their candidates to strictly abide by the Electoral Act towards ensuring peaceful 2023 general elections.

The Command also warned parents and guardians not to allow their wards to be used as thugs and trouble makers before, during and after the elections.

Addressing Executive members of the Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who paid a courtesy call to the Command, the State Commissioner of Police (CP), Yekini Adio Ayoku said there would be water tight security at the polls so that the election would be smooth without hitches in all parts of the State and the country.

Ayoku expressed satisfaction with journalists in the State, saying that he had not had any bad media report against his Command since he assumed office.

He assumed duty in April as the 40th Police commissioner of Kaduna State.

He said, “We are promising top notch security within the State during the 2023 general election. We shall provide tight security so that the election will go smoothly.”

The Commissioner of Police appealed to journalists to deny terrorists propaganda through the way they cast their headlines, pointing out that journalists occupied strategic position to safeguard the entire country.

Ayoku explained that the Command had made a lot of arrests and recovered arms and ammunition from criminal elements since he assumed office in the State.

He assured that the Command was doing everything possible to return Kaduna state to the pride of the nation.

Hajiya Asma’u Halilu, the NUJ Chairman, told the Police Commissioner that there was the need to improve on collaboration between the Union and the Police Command by availing information promptly to journalists.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
