  A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has died in Libya. African beauty products   She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.    Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.    According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.   She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.    In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osasā€™ properties. Police Arrest Leader Of Criminal Gang Which Robbed Hotel and R*ped Staff.

Spokesperson of Anambra State Police Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this in a press release said while the leader of the gang was arrested, his members escaped.

The leader of a criminal gang which specializes in robbing commuters along Ufuma ā€“ Oko ā€“ Uga- Amaokpala road in Orumba North and Aguata Local Government Areas of Anambra state, has been arrested.

He was arrested by the operatives of the Anambra State Police Command.

Ikenga revealed that the group leader confessed that it was his gang which recently robbed a hotel in Ndikelionwu, where a female staff was r*ped.

The release read: ā€œPolice Operatives attached to Oko divisional headquarters acting on credible information in the early hours of 6/9/2022 burst a criminal hideout, an uncompleted building along Oko ā€“ Ufuma expressway in Orumba North LGA.

ā€œOperatives arrested one Okechukwu Okpo ā€˜Mā€™ age 24 years of Ndobasi village, Ebonyi State. One locally fabricated pistol, two live cartridges and three plasma television were recovered.

ā€œThe criminal gang on sighting the police vehicle opened fire on the operatives, who responded swiftly, engaging the armed robbers in a gun battle. While other gang members fled the scene, Okechukwu was arrested.

ā€œPreliminary investigations show that the gang were responsible for over 25 armed robberies, kidnapping, car-snatching incidents that have happened along Oko Ufuma, Uga, Amaokpala expressway, among others.

ā€œThe most recent according to the confessional statement of the suspect (Okechukwu) is an attack in a hotel on 13/8/2022 at Ndikelionwu, where a female staff was r*ped and the gang also made away with three television and other items. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing gang members.ā€

Ikenga also stated that four other suspected criminals have been arrested in a separate incident.
