 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village. BAYELSA POLICE COMMAND CONDEMN MOB ACTION ON AN ALLEDGE MENTALLY DERANGED PERSON.


 **CP charge operatives to apprehend the perpetrators seen in the viral video trending on social media.*

The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Police Command, *CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo fdc,* has charged operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department to fish out the culprits who lynched a young man to death for alledge witchraft.

On 14 September 2022 at about 0730 hours, Policemen responded to a distressed call at Agudama Epie, Yenagoa, that a young man was allegedly lynched to death by irate youths on allegation of witchraft. Before the arrival of the Policemen the youths have deserted the area.

The victim was later identified as John Dimie 'm' who was allegedly mentally deranged.

In a viral video trending on social media, some youths were seen stoning the victim on a rooftop of a building. The viral video is being subjected to forensic analysis to identify the perpetrators and arrest them.

The command hereby warn members of the public to desist from taking the laws into their own hands, as perpetrators of jungle justice will be fished out to face the full wrath of the law.
