 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana. EFCC Arraigns Kwara Civil Servant for Defrauding, Issuing Fake Appointment Letters to 23 Church Members

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC has arraigned a 53 -year old civil servant: Oyawoye R. Olajumoke Fafemi, for allegedly defrauding 23 (twenty three) church members seeking employment.

Fafemi, a staff of Kwara State Ministry of Finance, was arraigned before Justice Mohammed Sani of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ilorin on Monday, September 26, 2022 on four -count charges, bordering on employment and Hajj pilgrimage scam.

The defendant was accused of collecting various sums of money from 23 members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Offa, Kwara State, under the guise of helping them secure employment in the Kwara State Civil Service Commission and Federal Government Parastatals. 

Investigations revealed that Fafemi issued employment letters to her victims. The letters stated that her victims had been employed by Kwara State Government and Federal Government, with their grades and salaries stated. However, those letters were later discovered to be fake.
