 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming. Gunmen kill five soldiers, one civilian in Anambra

Gunmen have killed five soldiers and one unidentified civilian.

The incident happened opposite one of the new generation banks in Umunze, Orumba South local government area.

A source, who spoke with The Nation, the incident happened around 2pm on Wednesday.

The soldiers, the source said, were in a Sienna vehicle when the hoodlums attacked them.
The shooting sent panic to residents of the area.

Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu told The Nation there was a shooting close to a bank in Umunze.

He said the details had not been received, adding that the incident happened between 12-1.30 pm.

He said the Command had deployed security operatives to secure the area, adding those responsible for such acts must regret it.

One of the Senior Police Officers in the State, who pleaded anonymity, also confirmed it to newsmen

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
