 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. Gunmen kill five soldiers, one civilian in Anambra

Gunmen have killed five soldiers and one unidentified civilian.

The incident happened opposite one of the new generation banks in Umunze, Orumba South local government area.

A source, who spoke with The Nation, the incident happened around 2pm on Wednesday.

The soldiers, the source said, were in a Sienna vehicle when the hoodlums attacked them.
The shooting sent panic to residents of the area.

Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu told The Nation there was a shooting close to a bank in Umunze.

He said the details had not been received, adding that the incident happened between 12-1.30 pm.

He said the Command had deployed security operatives to secure the area, adding those responsible for such acts must regret it.

One of the Senior Police Officers in the State, who pleaded anonymity, also confirmed it to newsmen
