 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  LOKOJA MONARCH DIES AT 80, KOGI GOVERNOR, OTHERS MOURN YABAGI DANLADI



The traditional ruler of Lokoja, Alhaji Kabir Maikarfi III (OON) has died at 80 years of age after a brief illness.

Secretary to Lokoja Local Government Traditional Council, Muhammed Usman stated this in a press statement.

The statement noted that the royal father would be buried later on Thursday in Lokoja at 16hrs (4:00pm) local time.
 
Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has joined others to condole the family of decease over the loss and prayed Almighty Allah to grant the Royal Father eternal rest. .

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed.

The Governor described the late monarch as a principled, firm, incompatible and loving father whose words of advice, guidance and unique leadership would be missed.

He also prayed for fortitude for those left behind for their loss and enjoined them to take solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation.

In their condolence messages, the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja, the minister of state for FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijani and other dignitaries also expressed sadness over the death and described the monarch in glowing tribute.

Benue info-pedia, recalls that the traditional ruler ascended the throne as the traditional ruler of the ancient town in 1992 and recently celebrated 30th anniversary as monarch in March this year.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
