 [ASSEN SAPS MEMBERS ASSIST WOMAN IN GIVING BIRTH AT POLICE STATION] Assen SAPS members assisted a female suspect who went into labour at the police station on Thursday, 8 October 2026, helping her deliver a healthy baby girl before she and the newborn were taken to a medical facility. According to reports, members were on duty at Assen SAPS under the command of Sergeant Chidi, when they received a telephone call regarding the arrest of a female suspect at Msholozi informal settlement in Kameeldrift. Constable Olivier and Constable Mokhutshoane responded to the call and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly in good health and had no visible injuries at the time of the arrest. She was subsequently taken to Assen SAPS. While at the police station, the suspect began experiencing labour pains and an ambulance was immediatly summond. Court remands singer Ice Prince in Ikoyi prison

A magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos has ordered the remand of hip-hop recording artist, Ice Prince Zamani at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

IcePrince was arrested earlier today for allegedly assaulting an officer and threatening to throw him in the river after he was arrested for driving without plate numbers.

The Lagos State Police Command arraigned the singer on a three-count charge of assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties and abduction. When the counts were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi subsequently granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and is also to provide the court with two responsible sureties. The Magistrate ordered that he be remanded in the correctional center until he fulfills his bail condition. He then adjourned further proceedings in the case till September 7.

At 3am today, "Ice Prince Zamani" was stopped for driving without license plates.

He agreed to be taken to the station.

He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river.

He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.
