Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive. My Husband Is A Different Kind Of Leader -Mrs Soludo

Anambra Governor's wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has said that her husband, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, is a leader who believes in getting the right results without compromising the etiquette of corrective governance.

Mrs Soludo, who was speaking in Awka, noted that her husband's administration operates a different administrative precept, both in articulating policies and implementing them, a trait that has always defined his work ideology.

She stated that from the early days of his political ambition, Professor Soludo had built a streamlined vision of what he wants for the new Anambra State, including an articulated leadership system that disrupts to develop. 

The governor's wife pointed out that having spent close to thirty years with her husband, she was confident in his plans for the State, and his constant search for the right development inputs to better the lots of Anambra State.

Mrs Soludo further stated that the present administration has plans for a dream state, that every resident would look back to and take huge pride in, explaining that the current development pattern spearheaded by her husband would be remembered in history.

She also appealed to ndi Anambra to maintain the existing support wave for the current government in order to help it reach the desired altitude.
