 Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army •LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations  In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army. The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state. Name Aso Rock after Queen Elizabeth – Ohanaeze Replies Garba Shehu

The apex socio-cultural organisation in Igbo land, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has asked the Presidency to jettison the call to name the University of Nigeria Nsukka after Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria, saying such move can be best for Aso Rock in Abuja or other parts of the North.

This was as it stressed that the former presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party, Adamu Garba, must tender an apology to Ndigbo for making such unhistorical remark.

Garba, had, on Friday, advised President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to immortalise Queen Elizabeth who died on Thursday, at 96, by renaming the UNN after her.

But reacting, the Chidi Ibeh-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a statement by its Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said such remark was capable of instigating conflict in the country.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
