 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon. Ify. Obinabo stated that peaceful coexistence in our families is imperative for a healthy society. In her words " when there is peace in our families, there will be peace in the society and our dear state will be livable and prosperous.

This was made known during an interface with delegates of United Nations Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre (UN-PEPOLAC) Nigeria in her office at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development center Awka.

Madam Commissioner also stated that women are peace makers having been given soft voices and gentle mannered, as mothers they have soft spot for their children and husbands.

Therefore, Madam Commissioner called on all women to be an advocate of peace using persuasion, soft talks, dialogue and prayers in handling issues.

In response the International Coordinator of UN-PEPOLAC Nigeria, Rt. Revd. Ozioma F. Ozoemena appreciated Madam Commissioner for been an advocate of peace and having hit ground in touching humanity right from the day she was inaugurated. Also pledged the readiness of the association to partner with the ministry and the state government at large in preaching and bringing peace to all and sundry.

Among the delegates includes HRM, Igwe Dr. Emeka Ilouno, Vice Chairman Peace, Mediation and Reconciliation Committee, Archbishop Dr. Mike Chukwudum Chairman, Special Project Committee, Hon. Ifeanyi Njelita Secretary Special Project Committee......... 

Highlights of the visit includes prayers for Madam Commissioner and the State, presentation of stickers, book and flag.
