 INTERNATIONAL ZERO-WASTE DAY: LAWMA RESTATES COMMITMENT TO DIRT-FREE LAGOS … Says Lagosians Must Play Their Role The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has reiterated its commitment to achieving zero waste in Lagos State, aligning with global efforts to minimise waste generation and maximise resource recovery. Commenting on the International Zero Waste Day, themed, “Towards zero waste in fashion and textiles”, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, stated that the event underscored the urgent need for sustainable waste management practices, noting that LAWMA had continued to implement innovative strategies, aimed at reducing landfill dependence, increasing recycling rates, and promoting responsible waste disposal among residents. 11 Passengers Travelling From Imo To Kano Burnt To D£ath Along Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway 

Eleven passengers traveling from Owerri, Imo state to Kano state were burnt to d£ath after a Toyota Hiace bus they were traveling in, got involved in an accident on Sunday, October 30.

The spokesperson of the Enugu state police command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the accident said the Hiace Bus with registration number KTG 41 XD, conveying twelve (12) passengers, rammed into a broken-down and stationary Howo Sino truck, at Akegbe-Ugwu, along Enugu/Port-Harcourt Expressway and burst into flames.

Ndukwe said the impact led to Eleven (11) of the travelers suffering severe burns before emergency help could get to them. He said they were taken to the hospital and confirmed dead by doctors on duty.
