 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES TEAM NIGERIA ON OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AT THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES IN GLASGOW ​President Bola Tinubu congratulates Team Nigeria on their remarkable performance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The ​President celebrates the athletes for demonstrating the resilience, determination, discipline, and excellence that define the Nigerian spirit. 23 Remaining Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack Victims, Regain Freedom

Terrorists said to belong to Boko Haram on Wednesday released 23 remaining captives of the Kaduna train attack of March 28, 2022.

This was disclosed by the Secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee (CDSAC), Prof. Usman Yusuf in a statement on Wednesday.

Yusuf said that the hostages were released at about 4pm on Wednesday.

He said the “seven-man Presidential Committee assembled by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General L.E.O. Irabor secured the release and took custody of all the 23 remaining passengers held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists following the attack on the Abuja to Kaduna train on 28-3-2022”.

Some terrorists on March 28 attacked the Kaduna-bound train, killing about 10 passengers and kidnapping scores of others.

“The nation owes a debt of gratitude to the Nigerian Military under the leadership of the CDS who conceived and guided the operation from start to finish. All sister security agencies and the Federal Ministry of Transportation contributed immensely to this operation,” the statement said.
