 Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has approved 100 hectares of land within the Abia Airport Project Site for the Nigerian Air Force to build its training base in Abia State. The Nigeria Air Force had requested an expansion of the 50 hectares of land already earmarked for its training base at the Abia Airport Project Site.  Governor Otti gave the approval on Tuesday, March 10th, in his office while receiving a delegation of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), Ground Training Command led by the Commander, Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde, who called on him. "The partnership is such that Abia State Government is handling the runway, and the Federal Government is handling the Airport Terminal.  "We expect the runway to be ready very soon. ALLEGED TERRORISTS
      “ ATTACK ON KANO COMMUNITY’’
      STORY MALICIOUSLY CONCOCTED TO DISRUPT THE PEACE BEING ENJOYED IN THE STATE


On 29th October 2022, there was an online publication credited to one Bridget Edokwe of an online news outlet ‘’barristering.com” alleging that  ‘’Terrorists Invade Kano Community, Sack Residents, Burn Several Houses”  the story was maliciously concocted to create fear, mischief, disrepute and disrupt the peace being enjoyed in Kano State.

2. Fact of the case: On 18th August 2022 at about 1100hrs, a report was received from a resident of Rogo LGA Kano State that, on the same date at about 0900hrs, some youth from Barbaji and Unguwar Hudu Villages of Rogo LGA suspecting that, youth from neighbouring Fulani settlement attacked one Abdulamjid Musa, ‘m’, of Unguwar Hudu and made away with his TVS Motorcycle, went to the Fulani Settlement named Dan Janfare Village and set ablaze the residence of one Magaji Wakili and Ibrahim Bala. They also destroyed the residence of one Ibrahim Abdullahi and Hussaini Danfulani. On receipt of the report, a team of Policemen led by CSP Aminu S. Wurno, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Rogo Division mobilized to the scene. The fire was brought under control and normalcy was immediately restored. Seven (7) suspects were arrested and subsequently arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court, Number 29, Nomansland Kano on 31/08/2022 for Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance, Criminal Trespass, Mischief and Mischief by Fire, as follows; Murtala Doro, Idris Wanzam, Mohammed Muntari, Rilwanu Yahaya, Tarmizu Adamu, Aminu Magaji, and Ashara Adamu, all of Unguwar Hudu Village, Rogo LGA.

3.  The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, fdc appreciates the good people of Kano State for their prayers, support, encouragement and cooperation. With the low crime rate, reduction in crime, serene and peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the State, the good people of Kano State are enjoined to verify facts before informing the public. Mischief makers are warned to desist from publishing fake, malicious and concocted news aimed at misleading the public and destabilizing the peace in the State. Thank you and God bless.
