No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Anambra State Government Goes Tough On Illegal Structures In Old Airport Site, Oba, Others

Anambra State Government Task Force has warned illegal developers against building without approvals across the state as it goes contrary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo's mandate of a liveable and prosperous homeland.

The task force gave the warning when it carried out partial demolitions on some structures built without approval and others marked for demolition at the old Airport Site Oba, Idemili South Council Area, Marine and Woliwo, Onitsha.

Speaking to the ABS, Chairman of the State Physical Planning Board, Barr. Chike Mmaduekwe said that sadly, many government lands which have been released to developers were high-jacked by gangs of youths and hoodlums who measure the same lands into parts, sell and resell to innocent people who fall into their trap.

While stating that these hoodlums also mandate the developers who have previously paid monies to government to pay additional huge amounts of money to them, Barrister Mmaduekwe said that the state government has paid all necessary compensations to the community and hence they do not have any right to encroach into government property.

Recall that the task force had visited and carried out some enforcement on the Site few months ago.

The team equally visited Marine and Woliwo/Portharcourt Road, Onitsha to continue with the demolition of illegal structures in the areas.

Barrister Mmaduekwe explained that some selfish individuals have encroached on government lands and that of private owners hence preventing the development of the areas.

Few months ago, the government Task Force had marked the areas for demolition.

Barr. Mmaduekwe warned that the government cannot condone any form of illegality and hooliganism in the state, stressing that the vision of the state governor is to build a green, planned and livable Anambra State which can be achieved with the help of everyone in the state.

He added that the ministry of Lands has issued a new policy that anyone doing any project on government land should get a letter of clearance from the ministry before the commencement of any work, after which the developers should go to ANSPPB with the letter of clearance to get building approval.

The Task Force also visited Isu Village in Oba where they served notice, marked all the illegal structures beng built in the area for demolition, as well as Nkwelle Ezunaka where some partial demolitions were carried out.
