Anambra State Government Conducts Open Bidding For IGR Concessions.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reiterated his commitment to follow due process in all government engagements for the ultimate benefit of Ndi Anambra.

Governor Soludo stated this at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka during the open bidding for all government internally generated revenue (IGR) concessions.

The process was conducted to sufficiently achieve the goal of keeping tab on government revenue sources.

The award of the concessions will follow after the successful bidding process.

The bid process follows the announcement by the Governor on immediate cancellation of all internally generated revenue (IGR) concessions in the state.

Speaking, Governor Soludo stressed that the first pillar of his administration is security, law and order, reiterating his insistence on the enthronement of transperancy in all government dealings.

While stating that public office is a public trust, the Governor pointed out that the revenue streams will be openly bidded in an auction style by qualified and interested people, saying that he wants to build a system where people do not need to know highly placed people in government to get concessions.

Open bidding for loading and unloading for heavy duty trucks, sand beach, environmental remediation, borrogh pit, among other concessions were conducted.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Anambra State Executive Council members, National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo, business persons and groups.
