 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ANTI DRUG ABUSE GROUP CANVASSES NIGERIAN’S YOUTH TO SHUN DRUG ABUSE.



In a bid to chastise the Nigerian youths to Shun Drug Abuse.


The Convener, Olayiwola Ibrahim have call for sanity among youths of the country to shun, curb drug abuse.


This becomes imperatively important on a walk to Tejuosho market, siting a young Igbo youth who was severely injured due Drug abuse.


Siting the victim, in a crowded area under the ongoing construction bridge, Tejuosho, the crowd lamented that the victim was under the influence of drug popularly know as COLORADO.


While tasking the youths, Ibrahim advice the Lagos State Governor spring up more sensitizational programs and campaigns againstdrug abuse.


Appreciating Governor Olushola Sanwolu, on some achievable projects in the State, he pleaded to the state governor on the provision of barricades as prevention on the electrified light rail track in the state.


He urged all Citizens to obey the rules and regulations by avoiding to cross the electrified light track rails.


He also called upon the commissioner for transportation, noting that the use of RFID Technological device will help to reduce the accident and also monitor the surrounding of the of the environment on the electricity track rail.
