 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENCY DISCLAIMS 2027 CAMPAIGN BILLBOARDS NATIONWIDE   The Presidency has observed, with dismay, the increasing number of billboards in some cities promoting the 2027 campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Worth noting is that some of these billboards with pictures of the President and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, emblazoned on them are springing up in Abuja and Kano in particular. While President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima greatly appreciate their teeming and loyal supporters across the country for their enthusiasm and continuing support, the two leaders do not support any campaign that breaches the laws of the land. The electoral law that guides the conduct of elections and political campaigns forbids any form of campaign for the 2027 general elections. Fraudster who Defrauded Grandmother N15m Jailed in Kano

Justice Nasiru Saminu of the Kano State High Court today October 25, 2022 convicted and sentenced one Aminu Ishaq to three years imprisonment for retention of proceeds of crime.

The convict is among six youths that were arrested in Katsina and Kano for stealing over N15,000,000 from the bank account of a complainant, incidentally a grandmother to one of fraudsters (Almustapha Nasir). Nasir had been convicted on the 6th of October, 2022 by the same court.

The defendants were arrested following a petition which alleged that Almustapha Nasir stole the SIM card of his grandmother, shared it with his friends and together, they stole over N15,000,000 through bank transfers and POS withdrawals.
