 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion. "I thought I was having s€x with my wife"- 39-year-old arrested for impregnating his 13-year-old daughter says

A 39 years old man Mfon Jeremiah a resident of FIRRO Estate off Adesan ,Mowe has been arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for impregnating his 13 years old biological daughter(name withheld).

The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Mowe divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim who reported that, she discovered that her daughter was pregnant, and when she inquired from the daughter, she was informed that it was her father who slept with her. 

The victim was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that, she is four months pregnant. 

Upon the report, the DPO Mowe division, SP Folake Afeniforo, quickly detailed detectives to the suspect's house where he was promptly arrested. 

On interrogation, the suspect confessed been responsible for his daughter's pregnancy, but claimed to be under spell when he did it. He informed the police that he was dreaming having s€x with his wife who have separated from him for some time now only to discover that it was her daughter that he has s€x with. 

Confirming the uncident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.
