 "The child was tied up and blindfolded."  (We are updating this story tomorrow with more information) A Springfield, Illinois couple face very serious charges after a witness came forward with shocking evidence of abuse and neglect. We Are thankful the witness came forward.  According to reports, the details of this heartbreaking case came to light on March 8th when Springfield PD was contacted by a female who witnessed a shocking scene at the home of 32-year-old Willie Wardlow and 40-year-old Ashley Wardlow. In addition to her important witness statement, the female witness also had photos and videos documenting the horrible conditions a small child in the home was forced to endure. The child is under 10 years old.  The photo and video appeared to show a young female victim who had been blindfolded and bound. KING CHARLES AND QUEEN CONSORT SENT OUT HUNDRENS OF BIRTHDAY CARDS TO THOSE CELEBRATING THEIR 100 AND 105TH BIRTHDAY. (PHOTOS).

The very first birthday cards from The King and The Queen Consort have been delivered to hundreds of people celebrating their 100th and 105th birthdays across the United Kingdom.

Several veterans of the Second World War are recipients of the first birthday cards from Their Majesties, including Glaswegian born Ruth Park-Pearson, who served in the Women's Royal Naval Service (the WRENS) and now lives in North Yorkshire. Ruth celebrated her birthday on Friday, surrounded by many of her 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 25 grandchildren. 

The posting of messages to mark significant birthdays and anniversaries is a tradition that dates back to 1917 and the reign of King George V, when those celebrating their 100th birthday or 60th wedding anniversary were sent a telegram of good wishes from His Majesty.

Today, thousands of birthday and wedding anniversary cards are sent from Buckingham Palace every year to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their 60th , 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter. During Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, approximately 1.3 million cards were sent to mark birthdays and anniversaries across the UK, the Realms and the Overseas Territories.
