 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Kogi Court Jails ‘Yahoo Boy’ 5years for N56.3m Fraud

A Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja has sentenced 23-year-old Yusuf Salawu, from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State to five years imprisonment without option of fine over offences bordering on control of proceeds of crime.

Justice Josiah Majebi found Yusuf guilty of one count charge preferred against him by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
