 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES WILL REMAIN ONE INDIVISIBLE INSTITUTION - GEN CHINADE


 
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Aminu Chinade has affirmed that the Nigerian Armed will Forces remain one indivisible institution that will continue to collaborate, cooperate, strategies and synergise in the defence of the territorial integrity of the country.  

Major General Chinade gave the affirmation when the Commander 671 Nigerian Airforce Detachment, Ibadan, Air Commodore Babatunde Folaji, paid him a courtesy visit to further cement the already established relationship among the two Institutions.
The GOC while applauding the existing synergy and cooperation among the security agents in the Division Area of Responsibility, noted that everybody in the country looks up to the Armed Forces for security and peaceful environment, which therefore calls for more jointness, cross information and the discharge of assigned duties with utmost responsibility.

Major General Chinade pointed out that beyond the security challenges is the political activities that has kicked off in the county, which he said calls for neutrality in all ramifications on the side of members of the Armed Forces. While assuring the NAF commander of continued assistance, the GOC enjoined commanders at all levels to continuously educate their subordinates and wards on personal and environmental security.

Earlier, the Commander 671 Airforce Detachment, Air Commodore Babatunde Folaji said the detachment has and will continue to collaborate and synergise with other security agencies for a peaceful and security free environment in Oyo State.
Air Commodore Folaji expressed appreciation for the continued support and assistance enjoyed from the Division especially in the area of medical facilities. He wished the GOC a successful tour of duty.
