NSCDC Arrests Two Illegal Oil Dealers In Anambra

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State have arrested two persons suspected to be dealing in illegal petroleum products in the state.

In a release, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Mr Edwin Okadigbo said the Operatives of the Corps through a credible intelligence intercepted one truck and arrested the suspects conveying fifty thousand litres of the product suspected to be adulterated Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), known as diesel to an undisclosed location.

He explained that the feat was made possible by the newly reconstituted Anti- Vandalism Squad of the Command headed by Mrs Chinenye Chinweze .

Mr Okadigbo pointed out that the suspects were arrested on Enugu_Onitsha express way with the registeration number of the truck as : MKA 806 ZF.

He gave the names of the suspects as, one Samuel Oduche , aged thirty nine of Ndiagu Amechi Awkunanaw Enugu State and one Emeka Agu,aged thirty five of Oduma , Aninri Local government area of Enugu State.

He said the suspects volunteered confessional statements admitting their involvement in the Illegal dealings in Petroleum Products while pleading for mercy.

The Image Maker explained that preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects had been in the illicit business of dealing in petroleum products without a license.

According to him, the State Commandant,Mr Chukwudi Chikere has ordered the Intelligence and Investigation Department to conduct discreet Investigations and at the end of which both suspects will be arraigned in court .

Mr Okadigbo said Mr Chikere had reiterated the commitment of the Corps to work assiduously towards protecting the nation’s oil and gas investments and other critical infrastructure in the state.
