 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces. Peter Obi Reacts As LP Zonal Chairman Dies In Kaduna Auto Crash

Labour Party Chairman, Peter Obi, has mourned the passing of one of the party’s Zonal Chairmen in Kaduna State, Mallam Lawal Garba.

Garba lost his life in a fatal auto crash along the Kaduna-Zaria road on Monday.

He was on his way back from the party’s engagement with Northern stakeholders in Arewa House, Kaduna, on Monday.

Reacting, Peter Obi in a tweet on Tuesday expressed shock over his death and prayed that his soul rests in peace.

”I’m shocked by the news of the sudden and tragic death of Mallam Lawal Garba last night in a fatal vehicular accident. Mallam Garba was in attendance at the Arewa House interactive session.

”His death is a huge loss to his family, the Labour Party family in Kaduna State and the Kaduna people.

”I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and that God Almighty will grant his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
