  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. Pickpockets Steal ex-Kaduna Governor Namadi Sambo’s Phone

Pickpockets on Thursday stole the mobile phone of a former Nigerian vice president, Namadi Sambo, at the NAF Conference Center, Abuja.

The former VP was invited as a guest of honour at the public presentation of biography and launching of Solomon Lar Leadership Institute.

The news of of the theft was revealed by one of the invited guests, Shehu Sani, on his verified Twitter handle.

“It’s incredible that someone can breach the tight security line and steal the phone of the former VP Sambo at the ongoing late Governor Solomon Lar Book launch in Abuja,” Mr Sani tweeted.

In reaction to the post, a Twitter user @ifGodbifomi said, “I can’t believe someone can have that audacity to do that. It’s rather embarrassing. Habaa Nigeria.”

Another one, @Asadeeq98: “Definitely our in-security has gone far out of hand ya Allah ka kare mu (May God protect us) Amin”.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
