 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. Pickpockets Steal ex-Kaduna Governor Namadi Sambo’s Phone

Pickpockets on Thursday stole the mobile phone of a former Nigerian vice president, Namadi Sambo, at the NAF Conference Center, Abuja.

The former VP was invited as a guest of honour at the public presentation of biography and launching of Solomon Lar Leadership Institute.

The news of of the theft was revealed by one of the invited guests, Shehu Sani, on his verified Twitter handle.

“It’s incredible that someone can breach the tight security line and steal the phone of the former VP Sambo at the ongoing late Governor Solomon Lar Book launch in Abuja,” Mr Sani tweeted.

In reaction to the post, a Twitter user @ifGodbifomi said, “I can’t believe someone can have that audacity to do that. It’s rather embarrassing. Habaa Nigeria.”

Another one, @Asadeeq98: “Definitely our in-security has gone far out of hand ya Allah ka kare mu (May God protect us) Amin”.
