 Alleged coup: Release our daddies, detained officers’ children protest at N’Assembly Scores of children and wives of military officers detained over an alleged coup plot on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest at the National Assembly, demanding a speedy trial and the release of the accused officials. The protesters gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly complex, moving in a slow procession while clutching placards with inscriptions such as “Don’t Kill Our Daddies,” “Detention Without Trial is Injustice,” and “Six Months of Torture: Enough Is Enough.”. Pickpockets Steal ex-Kaduna Governor Namadi Sambo’s Phone

Pickpockets on Thursday stole the mobile phone of a former Nigerian vice president, Namadi Sambo, at the NAF Conference Center, Abuja.

The former VP was invited as a guest of honour at the public presentation of biography and launching of Solomon Lar Leadership Institute.

The news of of the theft was revealed by one of the invited guests, Shehu Sani, on his verified Twitter handle.

“It’s incredible that someone can breach the tight security line and steal the phone of the former VP Sambo at the ongoing late Governor Solomon Lar Book launch in Abuja,” Mr Sani tweeted.

In reaction to the post, a Twitter user @ifGodbifomi said, “I can’t believe someone can have that audacity to do that. It’s rather embarrassing. Habaa Nigeria.”

Another one, @Asadeeq98: “Definitely our in-security has gone far out of hand ya Allah ka kare mu (May God protect us) Amin”.

@pappy1653 said: “E go reach everyone that has kept mute on the bad condition of Nigeria”.
