  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. POLICE ARREST MAN FOR DEFRAUDING INNOCENT PEOPLE OF N9M IN NASSARAWA. (PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

Police arrest man for defrauding innocent people of N9M in Nassarawa 

On 26/10/2022, Police operatives attached to State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia arrested one Abdulkadir Ibrahim 'M' 27yrs from Azara, Awe LGA of Nasarawa State for impersonating Barr. Mamman Toro Alakayi, the commissioner representing Nasarawa state at Federal Character Commission and defrauded unsuspecting members of the public to the tune of Nine Million Naira (#9,000,000).

The suspect has been posing on one of the social media platforms as Barr. Mamman Toro Alakayi fraudulently obtained money from members of the public under the guise of giving them employment at Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional service, Independent National Electoral Commission and Federal Inland Revenue Service.

Consequently, a search warrant was executed at his residence where two appointment letters from the National Taskforce (NATFORCE) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were recovered; also, six (6) documentation forms from the Nigerian Immigration Service all bearing different names were subsequently recovered from the suspect as exhibit and has confessed to the commission of the crime.

The investigation is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia upon conclusion, he will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
