No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

South East Governors To Start Joint Security Patrol In Major Highways Before December.

South East Governors have concluded arrangements to commence joint twenty-four hour security patrol in all major highways in the zone before December first this year, as a way of beefing up the security network and restore normalcy in the area.

This was contained in a communiqué issued by the South East Governors' Forum after their emergency meeting at Enugu state Government House.

The meeting had in attendance five Governors in the zone, Governor of Ebonyi state, Engineer David Umahi, his Enugu counterpart, Right Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, that of Abia, Dr Okezie Ikoeazu, Anambra state Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and that of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, represented by his Deputy, Professor Placid Njoku.

Reading out the communique, the Forum Chairman, Engineer Umahi, said the Governors decried the rate of insecurity in the region, regretting that economic activities have been badly affected, as kidnapping and unwanton killings have become the order of the day, and called on the federal government to come to the aid of the zone to restore adequate security of life and property, especially as general elections draw near.

The forum commended states and the federal government on the efforts being made towards alleviating the sufferings of victims of this year's flood menace in the country, disclosing that the South East Governors forum will combine resources to further assist the affected persons in the zone to help them return to their normal lives.

Requesting for the rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons, the Governors pleaded with the federal government to initiate action in the dredging of rivers in the Southeast zone to ameliorate the destruction of lives and properties as one of the measures to control the flood disaster, even as they expressed hope that long term solution to the flood disaster in the country will be proffered.

The forum debunked the rumour making rounds that they formed the Eastern Security Network, ESN, saying that the ones formed by them is Ebebeagu and Forest Guard security outfits.

Speaking on the lingering Nnamdi Kanu's case, the group called for political solution to it.

They also congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim on their triumph in the last Anambra state governorship election.
