 Nigerian man takes up the challenge to be bur!ed alive for 24hours A Nigerian man who identifies as Young C has embarked on a challenge to be buried alive in a coffin for 24 hours.  He made this known in a series of posts on his Instagram page on Wednesday,  stating that the stunt was genuine and not a hoax.  He announced his intention to broadcast live footage from the coffin at night. Sharing a video on his Instagram account on Wednesday, he said, "I am going to be spending the next 24 hours buried in this casket. Guys, this is real, not fake.  "And the most amazing part is that I am going to go live by night." In a subsequent update, Young C revealed that he had been buried for over 8 hours and was experiencing physical discomfort, including excessive sweating. In an update on Wednesday evening, he said in part, "Guys, I have been buried alive for over 8 hours now. For those of you who saw my first video, I have been down here. University Ranking: UNIZIK Clinches 10th Position, Merits Better – VC

The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone has welcomed the recent Ranking at the Times Higher Education World Academic Summit New York which placed UNIZIK at 10th position in Nigeria.7

But Esimone said the University deserved a far better placing had there been opportunity to present all basic parameters that were required for the ranking.

It will be recalled that the Chairman of the Nigerian Universities Ranking Advisory Committee (NURAC), Professor Emeritus Peter Okebukola broke the news of the ranking in Abuja when he returned from the summit.

According to Okebukola, at least twelve Nigerian universities with Nnamdi Azikiwe University on the list have shown remarkable improvement in world rankings and were applauded at the Times Higher Education World Academic Summit which ended in New York on October 12.

The ranking released by the Times Higher Education, he said has two Nigerian universities in the 401 to 500 band.

But Esimone whose ambition is to achieve number one position in Nigeria and at least 200 position for UNIZIK in the world said in a dialogue that the strike action by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) played a major role in its lower ranking because basic parameters for the exercise were not completed.

He said: “We didn’t reach the optimum. We would have been about sixth or seventh because I was doing what is required strategically with the supply of information.

“What we achieved was just a work of faith. The basic parameters, about four of them were not completed, including data about student’s distribution.

“The strike action did not allow the staff to provide the data needed.

”We thank God all the same. About four parameters we would have put in place to showcase what we have done”, Esimone said.

The NURAC was set up by the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed to mobilise Nigerian universities for and catalyse their participation in all global ranking schemes.

Over the last 12 months, NURAC has been working with all universities and building capacities to ensure the actualization of this mandate.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
