 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. 10 Passengers Perish In Kaduna - Abuja Road Auto Crash

A horrifying accident on the Kaduna-Abuja road has claimed the lives of ten people, among them a doctor.

A Golf automobile leaving Abuja at roughly 10 a.m. on Monday was involved in the accident. 

The accident took place close to Oma Gas Industry. The driver of the vehicle lost steering control, killing 10 passengers.

An eyewitness, Mallam Usman Kasai, reported that the driver was speeding when he lost control and slammed the culvert.

Officials from Road Safety and KADVIS evacuated the victims' remains and deposited them at St. Gerald Hospital.
