Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said. Armed Men Exchange Fire with Security Forces in Uli

Uli, a town in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state and home for the first campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) experienced heavy shootout yesterday.

According to an eye witness report, unidentified armed men with automatic rifle who came in a Toyota sienna vehicle and motorcycles engaged the security forces in a shootout in the university town that lasted for several hours.

The issue of insecurity in Uli and Ihiala local government has become a matter of grave concern to all and sundry. The security situation in the local government area has caused massive exodus of indigenes and well-to-do individuals from the town. It has equally affected the school community as students and lecturers are now living in fear, a situation which has affected the once school environ.

As at the time of filing this report, the identity of the armed men still remains a mystery and no casualty was recorded
