 Judge rejects Amy Winehouse's father’s lawsuit over sale of singer’s personal items  A London judge has ruled against Mitch Winehouse in a legal dispute over the sale of personal belongings once owned by his late daughter, singer Amy Winehouse. Mitch Winehouse, who serves as the administrator of the singer’s estate, brought the case against Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, alleging they improperly profited from the sale of her memorabilia. He claimed the pair had no right to sell the items and did so without his knowledge, arguing they should not have benefited from the auctions. Amy Winehouse died in 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning at her home in London, bringing an end to a career that made her one of the most recognizable voices of her generation. Canada To Welcome 465,000 Nigerians, Others As Permanent Residents In 2023 Amid Labour Shortage

The Canadian government has revealed its immigration plan to welcome half a million immigrants, including Nigerians, each year by 2025 to tackle the labour shortage.

Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser released Canada’s 2023-2025 Immigration Levels Plan, which embraces immigration to help businesses find workers and attract the skills required in key sectors.

According to the new release from the immigration ministry, the Canadian economy is now facing critical labour market shortages causing uncertainty for Canadian businesses and workers.

The ambitious immigration plan will manage Canada’s social and economic challenges in the decades ahead.

In 2021 Canada welcomed over 405,000 newcomers, the most in a single year.

According to the plan, the government is continuing that ambition by setting targets in the new levels plan of 465,000 permanent residents in 2023, 485,000 in 2024, and 500,000 in 2025.
