 *ANAMBRA SECURITY:  GUNSHOT IN UKWULU WAS AS A RESULT OF DISAGREEMENT AMONG SIBLINGS: POLICE CONTAINS THE SITUATION, RESCUES VICTIM, ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTS  AND RECOVERS ONE AK47 RIFLE, ONE PISTOL AND SIX ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION.* In the evening of 12th April 2025, Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu responded swiftly at the scene of a shooting incident in Ukwulu and prevented the situation from escalating further.  The Operatives rescued a victim with a gunshot injury, recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, and six (6) rounds of live  ammunition. Two suspects were also arrested at the scene. Meanwhile, the suspects are already undergoing, Police interrogations while the victim was taken to the hospital and is responding to medical treatment. CJN APPROVES 300 JUDGES FOR 2O23 ELECTION CASES.,(PHOTO).

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will on Monday, November 7, set in motion the legal fireworks for the 2023 election with the inauguration of over 300 members of the election petition tribunal.

The spokesperson for the Supreme Court, Dr. Festus Akande, said this in the invitation sent to journalists in Abuja on Saturday.

According to him, the event has been scheduled for Andrews Obaseki Auditorium at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja.

He also explained to our correspondent why the inauguration would be coming so early.

Akande said, “If there’s delay in swearing them in, you will ask why the delay, but it’s done early now, you are asking questions again. What will one do to please the world? I believe you have not forgotten that they will undergo induction for sometime before they commence sitting.

“Elections are taking place in February 2023; we are in November already. Do you want them to be inaugurated in February next year, being the same month of election? We have always been swearing them in few months to elections and this one is not an exception.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
