 Abducted editor resigns after newspaper apologises to Gbajabiamila Abducted editor, Segun Olatunji, has resigned from his position at FirstNews following an apology made by the management of the media house to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila. Olatunji, who spent two weeks in detention after he was abducted by military men from his Lagos home on March 15, 2024, said he had chosen to resign as the General Editor of FirstNews for his safety and that of his family. It was learnt that the management of the newspaper apologised to Gbajabiamila over a recent news story published on its platform. Court Remands Medical Doctor for N8.5m Fraud

Justice P. Ayua of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remand a Medical Doctor, Okeogene Rawlings Godwin in the Port Harcourt Correctional Service for obtaining money by false pretence contrary Section 1 (1) (a) and punishable under section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related offences Act.

He was remanded after pleading "not guilty" to a five count charge preferred against him and his Company, Rhurrs Limited, upon being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Command on Monday November 21, 2022.
