  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. Court Sends APC Chairman To Jail Over Illegal Possession Of PVCs



A Kano Magistrate court presided over by Faroukh Ibrahim Umar has sentenced the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yautar ward, Aminu Ali, to two years imprisonment for unlawful possession of 367 permanent voters cards (PVCs) bearing different names, according to Daily Trust report.

Ali was in October arrested for collecting PVCs from different people in Gabasawa Local Government Area of the state and that he conspired with some members of his party to commit the offence.

The court sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the two-count charge, which contravened section 22 (a) of the Electoral Act, 2022 as amended.

However, the magistrate gave the convict an option of N500,000 fine for the first offence.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
