 AU Commission Chairperson Arrives in Bamako to Revive Dialogue With Mali Mahmoud Ali Youssouf arrived for a two-day official visit, according to an AU statement. He was welcomed by Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop and is also expected to meet with President Assimi Goïta, it said, Sputnik reported. The visit comes as Mali remains suspended from AU activities since June 2021. The AU has reaffirmed its support for Mali’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while proposing increased assistance to the security sector.

CP Durosinmi warns residents against defacing/destroying billboards/posters 

 ....or get ready to face the music, CP tells political saboteurs.

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Olatoye Durosinmi is dismayed and miffed at the attitude of some Political Stakeholders, especially as it pertains to the 2023 general elections campaigns. Some unscrupulous Persons have left the acceptable norms of politics and are now involved in campaigns of calumny, destruction and defacing of opponents Billboards and Posters. This is not a true reflection of what acceptable democratic tenets stands for.

The trend the CP notes, cannot be allowed to become a new normal.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Commissioner of Police has set up a special monitoring Team, saddled with the responsibilities of identifying, arresting and prosecuting those behind these undemocratic acts.

The CP has however assured all Political Parties and Stakeholders of a level playing ground and has warned those involved in these acts of political sabotage to desist forthwith.
