 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Bagos Calls Governor Simon Lalong To Cut short the Presidential Campaign Tour and Provide Security Response to Bokkos and Other Parts Of Plateau State.

17th November 2022.

The Honourable Member, representing Jos South/ Jos East federal constituency, Rep. Dachung Bagos has called upon the government of Plateau state and Nigeria to rise and put a stop to the inhumane act happening on the Plateau. 

The Honourable member called on Plateau people to rise, unite and triumph over the work of evil, he said while commiserating with the family of the victims in Bokkos local government area over the evil attack on the Maikatako community where 9 persons lost their lives and properties were burnt.

Without mincing words, Hon. Bagos made a call on Plateau citizens to be weary of attacks against Plateau. Hence, we must stand firm to defend our dear State. 

He further called on Governor Lalong to cease every form of campaign and come home, without the people secured, no one will be left to vote. 

Bagos prayed to God to grant the soul of the innocent victims eternal rest and speedy recovery to those in the hospital as he commiserate with the Bokkos people.
