 Tragedy Averted as 120-Year-Old Ancestral Tree Falls at Obosi Market By Chiedu Okoye A major tragedy was averted at Eke Obosi Market in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State after a 120-year-old ancestral tree collapsed, destroying shops and goods but leaving traders and visitors unharmed. The massive tree, estimated to be about 150 feet tall, fell within the market premises, damaging at least 12 shops and valuable merchandise. Residents and traders described the incident as miraculous, noting that no lives were lost despite the extent of the destruction. The fallen tree held significant cultural importance as a sacred symbol of Eke Obosi Market, which is regarded as a stronghold of the traditions and cultural heritage of the Obosi people. Beyond serving as a centre for commercial activities, the market is also known as a venue for communal traditional rites and ceremonies. Bagos Calls Governor Simon Lalong To Cut short the Presidential Campaign Tour and Provide Security Response to Bokkos and Other Parts Of Plateau State.

The Honourable Member, representing Jos South/ Jos East federal constituency, Rep. Dachung Bagos has called upon the government of Plateau state and Nigeria to rise and put a stop to the inhumane act happening on the Plateau. 

The Honourable member called on Plateau people to rise, unite and triumph over the work of evil, he said while commiserating with the family of the victims in Bokkos local government area over the evil attack on the Maikatako community where 9 persons lost their lives and properties were burnt.

Without mincing words, Hon. Bagos made a call on Plateau citizens to be weary of attacks against Plateau. Hence, we must stand firm to defend our dear State. 

He further called on Governor Lalong to cease every form of campaign and come home, without the people secured, no one will be left to vote. 

Bagos prayed to God to grant the soul of the innocent victims eternal rest and speedy recovery to those in the hospital as he commiserate with the Bokkos people.
