 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. A young Nigerian man, identified as Udam Samuel Aseer, has taken to social media to lament bitterly after some of the chairs he rented for his mother’s burial were stolen by some guests.

The Benue-based man said he had to pay an extra fee of N25,200 after seven of the chairs he rented were stolen at the venue of the event, which was held on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

“You attended My Mum’s burial & stole 7 Chairs I hired, leaving me to pay 25,200 (3,600 each)” he wrote on Monday. I have been in the village since yesterday over this & no solution. I had to pay as one of the terms & conditions given by chairs owners as agreed,” the disgruntled man wrote.
