 Somali PM calls on Somaliland to cut Israel ties, urges reconciliation Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Somaliland’s leadership to cut ties with Israel and to resolve disputes with the federal government through dialogue. Barre said relations among Somalis should be addressed through talks rather than confrontation, in remarks during a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of North East State. In December 2025, Israel announced mutual recognition with Somaliland, a move strongly rejected by the Somali government as a breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and criticised by many countries across the world. “Regarding our brothers in Somaliland, I have nothing new to say. ICPC Arraigns Polytechnic Lecturer for Allegedly Misappropriating N4.1M

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Kaduna State office, has arraigned one Mr. Sahabi Dahiru Doka, before Justice Kabiru Dabo of Kaduna State High Court, Zaria, Kaduna State, for allegedly misappropriating the sum of N4,103,214.90 (Four Million, One Hundred and Three Thousand, Two Hundred and Fourteen Naira, Ninety Kobo).

Doka, who allegedly received the sum as salaries from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria as a Lecturer, while being on secondment as Secretary to Kudan Local Government Council of Kaduna State, has been charged on two counts for offences punishable under Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and Section 293 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law 2017; and Punishable under Section 294 of the same law.
