 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration. Kaduna Deploys 2000 Teachers In 155 Schools To Enhance Girl-Child Education

The Kaduna State government has deployed 2000 teachers in 155 schools across the 23 local government areas (LGAs) of the state as part of efforts to address the constraints of girl-child education in the state.

The state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe while speaking at a training organised by the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Teachers Service Board at Kaduna State University (KASU) said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that the girl-child is given every opportunity to achieve her full potential.
