 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. KING CHARLES LED THE NATION FOR THE ANNUAL REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY. (PHOTOS).

The King today led the nation for the annual #RemembranceSunday commemorations at the National Service at the Cenotaph. In a tradition started by King George V in 1920, who unveiled the Cenotaph, His Majesty laid a wreath at the Cenotaph.

Wreaths were also laid The Prince of Wales, The Earl of Wessex and The Princess Royal. A wreath was laid on behalf of The Queen Consort, who joined The Princess of Wales, The Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Sir Tim Laurence to watch the service from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office balcony.

A tradition of every Remembrance Sunday is the Royal British Legion March Past of 10,000 Veterans - this year The Earl of Wessex took the salute.
